American Red Cross Babysitter's Training Camp - "Kick it up a Notch"

Concord NC, August 2, 2008 - The American Red Cross, Cabarrus County introduces its new Babysitters' Training. Babysitter's Training Camp - "Kick it up a Notch" takes place,  Wednesday August 6 - Friday 8, 2008;  8:30 AM - 2 PM at the Red Cross.  We are pleased to partner with the City of Concord, Parks & Recreation to offer this program.

By "kicking it up a notch," the three day camp offers the new expanded version - not only do you receive a Red Cross certification in Babysitting, but also First Aid and CPR for Infant and Child certifications. On the final day we have added personal and water safety training concluding with a trip to McInnis pool for hands on water safety and a free swim.

The following is the story of one Red Cross trained babysitter

The American Red Cross of Greater Idaho Chapter (Boise) reports that two local 14-year-olds were recently featured in People Magazine. Justin went into cardiac arrest at baseball practice.  Fortunately Jessica was playing soccer nearby. Jessica, who had taken a Red Cross babysitting class, jumped into action and performed CPR for several minutes until help arrived. Justin is planning to take a CPR class now too; he says everyone should learn how to save a life.

A few opening for the camp are still available. The cost is $110. To learn more about the new Red Cross Babysitter's Training http://www.cabarruscounty.redcross.org/  To register for this fun event call 704-720-7426. Pre-registration is required.  The training takes place at the American Red Cross, Cabarrus County, 167 Union Street South, Concord NC 28025.
